1. Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to find support here. We treat accessibility as part of doing right by our community, not a box to check, and we work to remove barriers as we find them.
2. Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive differences.
3. What we've done
Steps we've taken to support accessibility include:
- Clear, generous typography with readable font sizes and high color contrast for body text.
- Semantic, structured headings and a logical reading order.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Keyboard-navigable links and controls, with a visible focus state.
- Responsive layouts that adapt to phones, tablets, and desktops, and support browser zoom.
- Plain, jargon-light language, mindful that many of our readers are tired or grieving.
4. Conformance status
5. Audio & meditation content
Our guided meditations and audio are central to what we offer. We are working to provide written transcripts and text descriptions so that members who are deaf or hard of hearing can access the substance of each recording. Where a transcript is not yet available, please contact us and we will help.
6. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known or possible limitations include third-party embeds (such as forms, payment, or community tools) that we don't fully control, and older documents or media that predate this statement. We're addressing these as part of our ongoing work.
7. Need help, or found a barrier?
If you have trouble accessing any part of Day to Day Dementia, or you notice an accessibility barrier, please tell us — it genuinely helps. Email anthony@daytodaydementia.com with the page or content involved and the problem you ran into. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to offer the information you need in an alternative format where we can.
8. Ongoing work
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task. We review accessibility as we add features and content, plan periodic audits, and update this statement as our conformance improves.
